The quiet Encino neighborhood was shattered this week by the tragic deaths of renowned American Idol music supervisor Robin Kaye, 70, and her husband, Thomas DeLuca. The couple was found dead in their $4.5 million home on July 14 in what authorities believe was a violent home invasion.
Suspect Arrested
Within 24 hours, the LAPD arrested Raymond Boodarian, 37, who lived just minutes away from the crime scene. Investigators confirmed his fingerprints were discovered inside the victims’ residence, and home surveillance footage placed him at the property. Police have stated there appears to be no prior connection between Boodarian and the couple.
A Troubled History
Neighbors describe Boodarian as a known nuisance with a history of erratic behavior and drug use. Court records reveal prior misdemeanor arrests in 2023 and 2024, with residents repeatedly reporting feeling unsafe due to his conduct.
“He was always high, causing problems,” said Madlen Amrani, 80, a longtime neighbor. “People complained, police would take him away, but he always came back.”
A Fatal Break-In
Tensions escalated days before the murders when a nearby renter reported seeing someone scaling the couple’s fence on July 10. Authorities are now investigating whether this was a failed prior attempt or a precursor to the fatal attack.

Kaye, a beloved figure in the entertainment world, had been a key part of American Idol since 2009. The show released a heartfelt statement:
