Royal Family Responds with Amusement to Playful Reenactment of Meghan and Harry’s Viral Dance

Posted on June 27, 2025 By edm.

A lighthearted tribute to a memorable royal moment has caught the eye—and earned the nod—of the official Royal Family.

On June 25, 2025, British TV star Jamie Laing and his wife Sophie Habboo posted a humorous video recreating Meghan Markle’s viral “Baby Mama Dance.” Filmed on a grand red-carpeted staircase inside Buckingham Palace, the couple imitated Meghan and Prince Harry’s dance moves to the original tune, adding a fun twist—Sophie is pregnant too.

The video included the message, “The Royal Baby has arrived,” with a caption joking, “They said we couldn’t film in Buckingham Palace… @sophiehabboo @kingstrust.” It quickly gained over 70,000 likes.

What truly surprised viewers was the official Royal Family Instagram account’s comment: “We see you 👀😉,” playfully acknowledging the couple’s cheeky palace filming. That response quickly received more than 10,000 likes and a flood of entertained replies.

The original clip from Meghan, shared on June 4, featured her dancing joyfully while heavily pregnant with daughter Lilibet, with Prince Harry by her side in a hospital room. The caption noted, “Four years ago today, this also happened,” explaining that both their children had been overdue, and dancing was their lighthearted attempt to encourage labor.

Set to Starrkeisha’s “The Baby Momma Dance,” the clip revealed a candid, carefree side of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex that quickly captured hearts online and sparked many responses.

Almost two weeks later, Meghan reflected on the viral clip during a June 17 episode of “Aspire with Emma Grede.” Discussing how audiences crave authenticity, Meghan asked the host, “Did you see my baby momma dance?”

Emma Grede responded enthusiastically, admitting she’d watched it about 20 times the previous day, noting Prince Harry’s finger moves with delight. She observed that the video revealed a side of Meghan rarely seen before.

Meghan agreed, explaining the video wasn’t recent but served as a reminder that life outside the public eye can be full of genuine joy. She expressed gratitude for her return to social media, where she can now share moments on her own terms.

Emma stressed the importance of having control over one’s image, and Meghan confirmed that returning to Instagram has felt liberating. Since launching her account in January—the first time back on social since early days like Boomerang before Stories and Reels—she’s been learning to use new tools like tripods and lighting. However, she emphasized that none of that technology is crucial.

Her goal is to capture authentic, unscripted moments that bring laughter, joy, or inspiration without feeling overly polished or produced.
