TV Personality Melanie Sykes Reveals Troubling Health News After Experiencing Hair Loss – Watch the Video

She was once a bright, familiar face on British television — but now she’s battling a devastating autoimmune illness that has changed her appearance so drastically, fans can hardly recognize her.

Melanie Sykes has broken her silence with a heartbreaking update on social media, one that has stunned and deeply moved her followers.

The much-loved 55-year-old presenter, who spent decades on TV screens, took to Instagram on Saturday, 29 November, to reveal an intensely personal struggle: a severe autoimmune condition that has affected her physically, shaken her confidence, and altered the glamorous image people once associated with her.

“I’m unwell, as many of you know. I’ve been sick all year. I have an autoimmune condition — I’m losing my hair, my body keeps flaring up with inflammation, and I’m trying to recover,” she admitted.

Sykes initially spoke publicly about her alopecia and heart condition back in April, documenting her journey online — but stopped sharing updates only a month later.

Now she has returned, courageously revealing that her condition has deteriorated, leaving her “two-thirds bald” and dealing with constant pain.

“In the past three months, I took a meditation teacher training course,” she revealed. “But I was too sick to finish it. Literally, I couldn’t complete the last two days.”

She explained that she has been living what she calls “a very, very spiritual existence,” quietly recording and writing about her experience — though she confessed she hasn’t had the strength to release any of it publicly.

That same day, however, she posted a new introduction video, signaling her emotional return to sharing her story.

When she first spoke out earlier this year, fans were stunned by how drastically her appearance had changed — and now those reactions have resurfaced, filled with compassion, worry, and heartfelt support.
