Doctor issues urgent warning about a common everyday habit that can double the risk of a heart attack

Posted on November 25, 2025 By admin

A well-known television doctor, Dr. Hilary Jones, has recently shared important guidance on protecting your heart — along with a serious warning about a behavior many people see as harmless, even though it can dramatically increase the likelihood of a heart attack.

According to Dr. Hilary, maintaining a strong and healthy heart begins with managing weight, staying physically active, and eliminating specific harmful habits. He emphasized that excess weight puts strain on the heart, making it work harder than it should.

“The heart is a muscle,” he explained. “It thrives when we use it properly. Don’t overload it by carrying too many extra pounds, and be sure to exercise consistently. It loves movement.”

He also stressed the importance of avoiding the buildup of unhealthy cholesterol that can clog the arteries and make the heart struggle.

But one warning stood out above the rest. Dr. Hilary highlighted a habit that many people rely on daily — and it’s far more damaging than most realize.
“Don’t smoke,” he said firmly. “Your heart absolutely despises it.”

He explained that quitting smoking doesn’t just lower the risk of a heart attack — it also improves overall physical health, reduces the chance of cancer, lung disease, stroke, and other smoking-related illnesses, and can even positively impact mental well-being.

In one of his videos, Dr. Hilary turns his focus to stress — something nearly everyone deals with, yet few manage properly. He emphasized that protecting the heart isn’t only about physical factors but emotional balance as well.

“Life can feel overwhelming,” he said. “Constant, relentless, tiring. But too much stress is dangerous for your heart.”

To combat this, he encourages people to intentionally carve out time for themselves, the same way they would schedule an appointment.
“Do what I do,” he advised. “Block off moments in your diary that belong just to you. Slow down. Relax. Take a break from the chaos.”

He added that even small, consistent moments of relaxation can make a noticeable difference:
“Your heart will love you for it.”

In yet another message, Dr. Hilary warned that millions of people are walking around at this very moment with dangerously high blood pressure — and many of them have absolutely no idea.

Wearing a blood pressure monitor in the video, he explained,
“They’re at risk of something they really don’t want, like a stroke or heart attack. So check your blood pressure soon. Don’t wait.”

His overall message is clear: simple lifestyle habits — avoiding smoking, reducing stress, staying active, managing weight, and monitoring blood pressure — can dramatically reduce the risk of serious heart problems.

Your heart depends on you to protect it.
