Two weeks later, the blind man came back to the restaurant.
The owner, eager to test the man’s incredible sense of smell, rushed into the kitchen where his wife Brenda was preparing lunch.
“Brenda,” he whispered, “help me with this experiment — run this fork across something personal of yours so he’ll have no way of guessing it!”
She shook her head but played along, giving the fork a quick swipe before handing it back.
The owner returned to the dining room and confidently placed the fork in the blind man’s hand.
The man lifted it to his nose, sniffed carefully, and smiled.
“Well, that’s surprising,” he said. “I had no idea Brenda worked here!”
