One evening, an elderly couple decided to treat themselves and “live it up” a little by going to McDonald’s. They ordered a simple meal — one burger, one order of fries, and a drink. When the food arrived, the old man carefully cut the burger in half and divided the fries evenly onto two napkins.
A few college students sitting nearby watched the scene with growing sympathy. They noticed how the couple seemed to be sharing everything so modestly, and one of the students couldn’t help but step forward.
“Sir,” he said kindly, “please let us buy you both another meal so you each have your own. It’s really no problem.”
The old man smiled warmly and shook his head. “Oh, no, thank you,” he replied. “We share everything.”
The students watched as the man began eating his half of the burger and a few fries, but his wife just sat quietly, hands folded in her lap, not touching her food at all. Concerned, one of the students leaned over again and gently asked, “Ma’am, aren’t you going to eat your half?”
The elderly woman looked up, smiled sweetly, and said, “Oh, I’m waiting for the teeth.” 😂😂
Our sides were splitting with laughter! Sometimes love — and sharing — lasts a lifetime!
