On July 24, 2025, the wrestling icon Hulk Hogan passed away at 71 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, Florida.
Just five days prior, on July 19, Linda shared a surprisingly nostalgic throwback on social media — now seen as a poignant tribute, reflecting a sense of foresight.
Linda’s post, featuring a photo from the mid-1990s of her and Hulk, initially seemed like a typical reminiscence, but given their tumultuous history, it carries much more weight now. The photo shows Linda looking stunning in a black strapless dress and long gloves, while Hulk wore his iconic WCW yellow-and-red “Hulkster” gear. She captioned it with, “The good old days!”
For most ex-couples, such a post wouldn’t be remarkable. But given Hulk and Linda’s highly publicized split and ongoing resentment, Linda’s post seemed unexpected. In light of Hulk’s passing, it now feels like an emotional and almost prophetic tribute.
Hulk and Linda were married in 1983 and had two children, Brooke and Nick. Their marriage lasted for decades, and gained widespread attention in 2005 with the VH1 reality show Hogan Knows Best. However, their divorce in 2007 was marred by scandal after reports of Hulk’s affair with a friend of their daughter. Hulk’s show was also canceled that year.
Their separation began years of estrangement and emotional turmoil. In March 2025, Linda posted an emotional video on social media, calling her family a “complete mess.” She revealed she hadn’t spoken to Brooke in over seven years, though she remained close to Nick. She referred to Hulk as a “liar” and “sex addict” and expressed anger at his public adoration.
Brooke responded, detailing a history of severe verbal and psychological abuse from both parents, sometimes physical, and explaining her painful decision to sever ties with them both.
Following Hulk’s death, people began commenting on Linda’s throwback post, with over 300 fans expressing their condolences and sympathy.
TMZ reported that paramedics arrived at Hulk’s home early on Thursday morning. Despite their efforts, including chest compressions, Hulk was declared dead later that day at a nearby hospital. Tributes quickly poured in on social media, including one from WWE, where they expressed sadness over the loss of “one of pop culture’s most recognizable figures.”
Hulk’s death came just two years after his marriage to Sky Hogan, his third wife, in September 2023. The couple had been together since 2022, and Sky shared moments from their wedding on Instagram.
