Robin Kaye, renowned music supervisor best known for her work on American Idol, was found dead alongside her husband, Thomas Deluca, in what authorities are treating as a double homicide.
The couple was discovered on Monday inside their Encino home after LAPD officers conducted a welfare check prompted by family members who hadn’t heard from them in several days.
According to TMZ, officers arrived to find blood near the front door. When no one responded from inside, they broke a window to enter and found both Robin and Thomas deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been made, and police have not identified any suspects.
Just days earlier, police had been called to the same residence after a report of an attempted break-in. Witnesses claimed they saw someone—possibly armed—trying to enter the home. Officers investigated and searched the area, including with a helicopter, but found no signs of forced entry and no suspects at the time. Investigators are now reviewing surveillance footage to determine if that incident is connected to the murders.
Robin Kaye had an accomplished career in television, serving as music supervisor for American Idol for over 15 seasons and earning multiple Guild of Music Supervisors Awards. She also contributed to Lip Sync Battle and other prominent shows.
Her death has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, where she was celebrated for her talent and creative contributions.
Police are asking anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues. For now, friends, family, and colleagues are left grieving an unimaginable loss.
