David coldly told Megan, “Our marriage is over. I wouldn’t touch you even if you had the perfect figure.” On their fifth wedding anniversary, instead of surprising her with tickets to Paris like she had hoped, he handed her divorce papers — and walked out on her for his secretary, Jessica.
Devastated and blindsided, Megan begged him to stay, offering counseling and pleading for a second chance. But David mocked her appearance, called her “dull,” and left without a shred of remorse.
Heartbroken, Megan tried to pick up the pieces. Her best friend Veronica encouraged her to move on, even downloading a dating app for her. One message from a man named Robert changed everything. They chatted, connected instantly, and arranged to meet for dinner.
Just as Megan was about to leave for her date, David showed up to collect his things, mocking her transformation and claiming no one would ever truly love her. He even tore off her wedding necklace, reducing their marriage to something disposable.
Still shaking, Megan pulled herself together and went to the café. At first, her date wasn’t there — until Robert appeared with a bouquet of lilies (unfortunately, she was allergic). Embarrassed, she sneezed repeatedly, but Robert was kind, understanding, and even had the flowers removed.
That night, they opened up to each other. Megan shared her story of heartbreak, and Robert listened with genuine care. A few months later, they were engaged.
Then, one day at a restaurant, Megan ran into David. He looked worn, defeated, and confessed that Jessica had left him. He admitted leaving Megan was the worst mistake of his life and begged for another chance.
Before Megan could respond, Robert stepped in. “I’m Megan’s fiancé,” he said, as David stood there in stunned silence.
Megan smiled, took Robert’s hand, and walked away — leaving David to face the consequences of his choices.
