She Didn’t Recognize Me—But She Held On Like Her Life Depended On It

Posted on May 1, 2025 By edm.

It started like any other Friday.
My six-year-old, Ben, was feeling under the weather—nothing serious, just a small fever. I stayed with him that morning but had to head into work later. Ruby, our neighborhood babysitter, came by like she always did. She’d been helping us out for over a year—sweet, responsible, and patient. I trusted her completely.

Ruby hadn’t shown up.

But she knew Ben was scared—and she stayed.

She protected him.

The truth about who the man w
